Responsibilities:
Candidate should have solid understanding of fiber optics and thin
film technology to perform R&D in development of advance fiber
optics devices and systems. Candidate will be responsible for
processing and manufacturing, assembling, testing and
characterization of fiber optic device such as sensors and
modulators/switches.
Experience
Preferences:
Experience with fiber optic devices and
sensors. Strong laboratory skills with a demonstrated ability to
define, set-up and analyze measurements of optical components and
system, familiarity with stress/strain, chemical, FBG sensors, and
other types of fiber optic sensors. Experience in signal processing
and data acquisition, as well signals multiplexing and remote
control transmission. Team work experience is required.
Educational Preferences: M.S with experience of 8-10 years or
Ph.D. with experience of 4-5 years, in Electrical Engineering,
Optics or Physics.
Desired
Skills:
Hands on experience in Fiber
optics laboratory environment for at least 3 years.
Duties:

Processing and manufacturing fiber
optics devices, including thin film coating of various materials
on the fiber surface.

Set-up and perform testing and
characterization of the developed devices.

Development of signal and data
acquisition circuits for remote signal transmission, on 2-D
array sensors.

Periodic reporting on R&D progress
and achieved results.
